The 2nd Annual Gente de Maíz Gathering 2026,
A weekend dedicated to honoring maiz through stories, seeds, food, culture, and community.
Maiz is more than a crop. It is memory, relationship, nourishment, and resilience. Whether you grow corn, cook with it, save seed, share traditional knowledge, or simply wish to deepen your connection to this ancestral food, we welcome you to join us.
Over the course of the gathering, participants will have opportunities to:
• Exchange seeds and growing knowledge
• Learn from farmers, seed keepers, and cultural practitioners
• Participate in hands-on workshops
• Share stories and traditions connected to maize
• Enjoy nourishing meals and community
• Build relationships that strengthen Indigenous and community food systems
The gathering welcomes farmers, gardeners, cooks, educators, artists, students, families, and anyone interested in celebrating and preserving the legacy of maiz.
